More than 40 countries and regions are expected to attend the 2020 CIFIT online, according to a press conference held on Aug 26 in Xiamen, Fujian province.

The organizing committee will launch an "Online CIFIT" platform in collaboration with Alibaba on the first day of the event, which will allow people from more than 40 countries and regions to showcase their products, conduct negotiations, sign agreements, and place orders online.

An offline event will also be held simultaneously with the online event in Xiamen from Sept 8 to 11.

With a total exhibition area of 110,000 square meters, 20,000 square meters less than last year, the 2020 CIFIT will feature 16 exhibition areas, among which the foreign investment exhibition area has attracted exhibitors from 35 countries and regions, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Japan, and South Korea.

CIFIT, held every September in Xiamen, is an international investment event aimed at promoting bilateral and multilateral economic exchange and cooperation. It also serves to showcase China's achievements in reform and opening-up.
