The 12th Straits Forum will be held in Fujian Province on the Chinese mainland starting Sept. 19, said a spokesperson Tuesday.

This year's forum will carry on the theme of promoting people-to-people exchanges across the Taiwan Strait, said Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson with the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.

With th forum, which will have Xiamen, a port city of Fujian, as its main venue, more than 30 activities have been arranged both online and offline for cultural and economic exchanges as well as communications among the youth and people at the primary level across the Taiwan Strait, said Ma.

Representatives from Taiwan including Wang Jin-pyng, former vice chairperson of Kuomintang, will come to Fujian for the forum, Ma said.
