On the afternoon of March 19th, the 9th Assembly of the Fourth Member Meeting of the Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Association was held in Wyndham Grand Plaza Royale Yuzhou Xiamen. Chen Xijin, head of the Convention and Exhibition Office of Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition and deputy director of Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Promotion Center, interpreted the  "Regulations on promotion of convention and exhibition industry of Xiamen Special Economic Zone" . Nearly 300 enterprises of the industry attended the meeting.

"Regulations on promotion of convention and exhibition industry of Xiamen Special Economic Zone" (hereinafter referred to as the Regulations) was passed unanimously at the 39th session of the Standing Committee of the 15th Municipal People's Congress in December 2020 and officially implemented on March 1 this year. The regulations consist of 5 chapters, 41 articles. It focuses on improving services and cultivating talent and will give full play of the city's strengths in order to build Xiamen into a model for China's exhibition industry, as well as an international exhibition center. The Regulations  also provide legal safeguards for the development of Xiamen's convention and exhibition industry.

Mr Chen made a comprehensive interpretation on the reasons for introduction, main contents and features of the Regulations. The regulations clarify the concept of exhibition industry and exhibition activities, and determine the scope of legislative promotion and regulation objects. It will play a positive role in optimizing the business environment, strengthening service safeguards, stimulating the development of the industry, establishing a talent training system, enhancing the core competitiveness of the industry, promoting the strength of Xiamen's exhibition industry chain, as well as the integration with other advantageous or key industries.  

Mr Chen hoped that convention and exhibition enterprises in Xiamen would carry out activities in accordance with the Regulations, and actively put forward specific measures to implement the Regulations, so as to contribute to the healthy development of local convention and exhibition industry, enhance the brand influence, and serve the overall economic development of Xiamen.
