2021 CIFIT Promoted in Guangzhou

A promotional meeting for the upcoming 2021 CIFIT was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on April 29.
More than 200 people, including representatives from 35 foreign consulates general in Guangzhou, Chinese and foreign investment promotion agencies, and business associations, attended the meeting.
Li Yong, director of the investment promotion bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, shared the reason for organizing the CIFIT at a new development stage and stressed that CIFIT should pursue innovation in an effort to upgrade and lead China in creating investment opportunities.
Chen Haoying, director of the Xiamen convention and exhibition bureau, introduced the competitive industries, business environment, and development status of Xiamen, showcasing resolution and confidence in organizing the 2021 CIFIT.
Representatives of the CIFIT's organizing committee discussed the event's new features and the construction of an online CIFIT in detail.
The 2021 CIFIT will revolve around the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the Belt and Road Initiative, and bilateral and multi-lateral regional cooperation to promote two-way investment, release authoritative information, and explore investment trends.
The 2021 International Investment Forum, a major CIFIT activity, is expected to feature government officials, renowned economists, and representatives from Global Fortune 500 companies, who will voice their opinions on global investment trends.
In addition, exhibition areas will be set up for emerging industries, including artificial intelligence, environmental protection, and biotechnology, during the four-day event.
Representatives from guest country of honor the Philippines and Heilongjiang province also promoted themselves at the meeting.
In addition, representatives of the Russian Federation in China, American Chamber of Commerce in South China, Japan External Trade Organization, and Hong Kong Trade Development Council were invited to discuss bilateral and multi-lateral cooperation at CIFIT.
