China supply chain management conference kicks off in Xiamen

The Second Annual Conference of China Supply Chain Management was launched in Xiamen, Fujian province on Dec 8.

The conference will last for two days, attracting government representatives, academics, and business representatives to discuss a variety of topics like ecological construction of the supply chain, innovative application of the supply chain, as well as the development of smart supply chains.

The main forum of the annual conference was held on Dec 8, attracting participants to offer ideas and suggestions on ways to improve the resilience of China's supply chain and build a new development layout.

The stability of the industrial chain and the supply chain are irreplaceable, as they have bolstered core competitiveness in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, said He Liming, chairman of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

The supply chain is a pillar industry and a driver that boosts Xiamen's economic improvement, as well as the development of the Xiamen area of the China (Fujian) Pilot Free Trade Zone, said Xiong Yanliang, deputy director of the Xiamen FTZ.

Statistics show that due to Xiamen's booming supply chain, the sales of the city's wholesale businesses abve designated size reached 2.11 trillion yuan ($333 billion), with a year-on-year increase of 50.5 percent, in the January-to-October period this year, while that in the Xiamen FTZ reached 692.2 billion yuan, up 55 percent year-on-year, added Xiong.

In addition, a parallel exhibition is being held to showcase the experiences and successes of leading companies in domestic supply chain management to promote exchanges in the industry, as well as to boost the optimization and innovation of supply chain management.
