The China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival 2021 kicked off in Xiamen on December 28, and winners of the 34th China Golden Rooster Awards will be revealed in Xiamen on December 30. In the past year, Xiamen’s film industry has witnessed a continuously positive growth. By the end of November this year, Xiamen had had 2,046 film enterprises, of which 350 were newly registered in 2021. The total registered capital of all film enterprises reached 9.16 billion yuan, of which 2.61 billion yuan was newly added in 2021. Entities attracted to Xiamen include industrially leading enterprises such as Daylight Entertainment and China Film Group, state-level fund of funds such as China Culture Industry Investment Fund Phase II, and other film and culture funds. As an important engine for investment promotion for the film industry, Xiamen Film Industry Park has also been through a booming development. As more preeminent film enterprises and film crews settle in Xiamen, this city is gradually developing into a cradle for film products. This year, Xiamen also formulated special supporting policies for film projects to accelerate the implementation of tax-related policies in each district. In 2021, the amount of tax reliefs involved in those policies reached 110 million yuan, benefiting 193 enterprises.
