Xiamen kicks off First Wedding Shopping Festival

The First Wedding Shopping Festival kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian province on May 14 to further boost consumption.
The wedding festival, which was held both online and offline and combined shopping malls and supermarkets with culture and tourism as one of the 2022 Xiamen consumption promotion events, provided convenience and discounts to brides and grooms-to-be, and further empowered the market's vitality to cultivate Xiamen into an international consumption-oriented city.
Thirty-three companies specializing in star hotels, wedding planning, wedding dresses, suit customization, photography, and other wedding-related sectors gathered with their exclusive offers at the wedding festival under the rigorous implementation of COVID-19 epidemic control and prevention measures.
The festival has also offered a slew of subsidies and coupons to couples, such as five-star hotel buffet vouchers.
Over the years, Xiamen has become a well-known wedding destination, and the number of couples who come to Xiamen for travel photography is estimated to reach 400,000 every year, said Chen Yuejin, deputy director of the municipal bureau of commerce.
In order to further boost the vigorous and energetic wedding market, the wedding festival plans to distribute over 3 million yuan in coupons via a Xiamen wedding website, according to a manger of Xiamen wedding tourism association.
