Xiamen International Expo Center has been put into operation following an opening ceremony on Dec 15. With an area of approximately 300,000 square meters, the new landmark building is the largest exhibition center in East China's Fujian province.

With this addition, Xiamen has formed three major exhibition clusters: Siming district's Huandao Road, Xiang'an district's Fengxiang new city, and Huli district's Wuyuan Bay. The city's exhibition area has increased from 200,000 square meters to 500,000 square meters, significantly enhancing its exhibition and conference capabilities.

As a landmark project for the implementation of the city's cross-island development strategy, the new expo center has a total construction area of 1.16 million square meters. It includes 11 column-free exhibition halls in the exhibition center, and can serve the purpose of exhibitions, banquets, sports activities and so on.
