The 16th Straits Forum convened in Xiamen, Fujian province on June 15. A large number of Taiwan participants have arrived in Xiamen via the Xiamen-Kinmen Mini Three Links route to attend the forum. A dedicated "Straits Forum" border inspection channel for the Xiamen-Kinmen route has been put into operation for the forum. This allows Taiwan attendees to complete their entry procedures quicker and more conveniently. To better serve Taiwan participants, the border inspection station has opened 44 inspection channels and dedicated "Straits Forum" channels on-site. This ensures that even during peak times, travelers can pass through quickly. Notably, 22 express lanes enable smart facial recognition clearance within 10 seconds. In addition, the service team at the Gaoqi Border Inspection Station provided guidance in the Minnan dialect, offering a warm and familiar touch to the clearance process for Taiwan travelers. A themed photo exhibition has also been set up in the cultural area of the border inspection hall. The exhibition features four sections and nearly 40 classic photos, documenting the development of the Xiamen-Kinmen Mini Three Links. Lin Cuifeng, a Taiwan compatriot who has participated in the Straits Forum in Xiamen multiple times, said, "I traveled from Taichung to Kinmen, and then from Kinmen to Xiamen. I find this route very convenient, and the clearance process is quick, smooth, and very friendly. I really appreciate having such an environment that allows us to communicate with each other." According to statistics, Xiamen Port currently handles 168 direct cross-Strait flights (or ships) per week. As of June 12, the port had inspected a total of 625,000 entries and exits by Taiwan compatriots. |
