The annual Straits Forum kicked off last week. The Xiamen International Conference Center hosted the main forum event last Saturday.

About 7,000 guests from across the Taiwan Strait attended the event. Xiamen is the primary site for the week-long event, with other cities and the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone in Fujian hosting ancillary activities.

A combined 86 organizations from both sides of the Taiwan Strait organized the event. This year’s forum features four main sections and a total of 50 events, including grassroots, youth, cultural and economic exchanges.
