Xiamen has been named a "2024 Most Internationally Influential Inbound Tourism City" alongside Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, etc. The city has emerged as a preferred destination for tourists from Southeast Asia, Oceania, and beyond. This recognition, based on Sina Weibo's comprehensive evaluation of nationwide inbound tourism hubs, analyzed metrics including big data analytics, overseas IP searches, foreign influencer reviews, and inbound tourism promotion volume. 

In 2024, Xiamen hosted over 2.3 million overnight international tourists—a 200% year-on-year increase—with its popularity in overseas online searches consistently ranking among the top five Chinese cities. Moving forward, Xiamen will leverage its geographic advantage as a transit hub between hemispheres to develop "Southeast Asia-Northeast Asia" and "Oceania-Europe/America" transit routes. It will also enhance inbound travel convenience through joint mechanisms with Shenzhen, Guilin, and Guiyang, as well as Fujian's Nanping and Longyan, among other regions, solidifying its status as a premier entry-point city.
