On June 7, the 82nd Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and World Air Transport Summit were held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The meeting officially announced that the 83rd IATA Annual General Meeting in 2027 will be held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, hosted by Xiamen Airlines. This marks the third time the event will be held in China, after Shanghai in 2002 and Beijing in 2012, with a 15-year gap since the last one. The IATA Annual General Meeting is the highest-standard, most authoritative, and most influential top-tier industry event in global aviation, often regarded as a "barometer" for world aviation development. Each year, it attracts over a thousand aviation executives, government officials, industry leaders, and experts from nearly 100 countries and regions worldwide.
