Xiamen hosted yesterday's opening of the annual Future Investment Conference. The two-day event is organized by the city of Xiamen and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Officials said that the conference aims to serve as a barometer of global investment trends and future growth structures as well as a connector linking capital, industry and technology.

This year's conference is focused on frontier sectors shaping the direction of global capital flows, including generative and industrial AI, digital services, life and health sciences and the new space economy. The event includes government officials, financial institutions and industry leaders from more than 50 countries.
