The director of the Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Affairs Bureau, Wang Qiongwen, met with top officials from China Central Television (CCTV) and Air China in Beijing on Jan 12 and 13. The meetings were held to discuss cooperation in the 2016 China International Fair for Investment & Trade, and International Investment Forum.

During a meeting with CCTV, Wang made proposals to deepen cooperative ties between the bureau and the broadcaster.

Chen Hongbing of CCTV's business channel told Wang that the CIFIT acts as a platform to flex the national strategy for economic development and plays an important role in boosting the economy across the globe. He also pledged the continued support of CCTV to the fair and outlined plans to cooperate with the bureau to make the investment forum even more successful.

Chen suggested that CIFIT and II Forum focus on investment issues, highlight investments in the real economy and deepen cooperation with Southeast Asian countries.

Air China's marketing director, He Zhigang, said that Xiamen plays an important role in China's Belt and Road Initiative. The airline expects to cooperate with CIFIT again and looks forward to full cooperation with Xiamen in the convention and exhibition industry, according to He.

He also expressed Air China's desire to work with Xiamen to expand business in Southeast Asia, increase passenger flow and improve the carrier's global image. （Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs）
