Russian Chamber of Commerce hold talks with Xiamen fair organizers

Members of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry met a working group from the 2016 China International Fair for Investment & Trade in Moscow, the Russian capital on April 19.

It was introduced to the Russian businessmen that the 2016 fair will address industrial cooperation, innovation, free trade, Internet Plus, and e-commerce at the meeting.

Lai Jianzhou, deputy secretary-general of the Party committee of Xiamen, encouraged members of the Russian chamber, which is the most powerful in the country having 80 chapters, to tap into the rich business opportunities by joining the fair.

Georgy G. Petrov, vice president of the chamber, said that the body seeks to make inroads in the Chinese market by using the coming trade fair as a springboard. He also called for member companies to make proper preparations to showcase their offerings in front of the international audience at the fair, to be held in Xiamen, Fujian province in September.

Also present at the meeting were Wang Qiongwen, director of the convention and exhibition affairs bureau of Xiamen, as well as 70 representatives from 50 Russian business organizations.

Before the large-scale meeting, a smaller one with limited participants was held, according to which the chamber plans to organize a large number of Russian companies to set up exhibitions at the fair and reach out for global capital through networking events. The Russian Chamber of Commerce also intends to sign agreements to assure strategic cooperation with the fair’s organizer. （Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Convention and Exhibition Affairs ）
