Sponsored and organized by Xiamen Convention & ExhibitionAssociation, The first Xiamen Conference Hotels Seminar was successfully held on July 8, 2016 in Xiamen International Seaside Hotel. The seminar further metthe demand guided by Xiamen Municipal Party Committee and Xiamen MunicipalGovernment, which helped Xiamen conference hotels become professional, high-endand international. The seminar received both the strong support from XiamenMunicipal Bureau of Convention & Exhibition Affairs and positive response fromwithin the Xiamen hotel industry. Over 100 representatives from 50 hotelsattended the seminar.

Mr. Zheng Zhi, the President of Xiamen Convention & ExhibitionAssociation presided the seminar and gave an address. From his statement, thequantity and quality of conference were tremendously increased in the firsthalf of this year. The contribution rate of conference industry were higherthan that of exhibition industry. Compared with the same period last year, thenumbers of conference, participants and reward application were significantlyincreased. He voiced that the second half of this year was the prime time for conferenceindustry to kick off a further boom. Mr. Zheng encouraged the conference hotelsto enhance self-construction and improve competitiveness from upgradinghard-ware, strengthening team construction, improving service quality, emphasizingstaff training as well as promoting marketing.

Mr. Li Chiwei, the General Manager of Fliport Hotel Xiamen SoftwarePark shared the experiences of hotel development from four dimensions:upgrading hardware, establishing service reputation, exploring specialties andemphasizing marketing. Ms. Cao Jin , the director of Xiamen C&D Tourism& Hotels Inc. introduced the team construction via designing salary system,setting up incentives, establishing service system , talent floating mechanismand training system and improving training efficiency.

A number of hotels provided suggestions on the seminar. First, facilitating quick access to policies in Huli and Jimei Districts carries out to promote development ofconvention industry. Second, hotel conferences is an important carrier to speedup development for convention industry. The certification of conference hotelis much applicable than star-hotels. Third, simplifying application procedures forboth municipal and district reward policies and shortening the reward period.At last, Xiamen Convention & Exhibition Association (XMCEA) has made positivecontribution to Xiamen convention Industry. Setting up award for introducingconferences to stimulate enthusiasm arising from relevant organizers. (XMCEA)
