The eighth China International Fair for Investment in Property (CIFIP) will take place at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center in Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 7 – 11.

As part of the CIFIT, the property investment fair will present real estate projects of 30 million square meters, including residential buildings, office spaces, entertainment facilities, hotels, urban complexes, and renovation projects from different regions in China.

Haikou city, capital of Hainan province will take part in the event for the first time and it plans to present two areas of land with advantageous locations. Xiamen will introduce one luxurious tourism resort project aimed at attracting upscale clients.

The Ministry of Land and Resources will host a seminar during the fair to study new guidelines issued in February regarding land-banking and fund management, and discuss how land-banking institutions can adapt to their new positions with nuanced functions and limited funding resources.

A group of 24 land-banking institutions will represent China’s vast inland areas and the city clusters in the Beijing-Tianjin area, as well as on the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta areas during the seminar.

The seminar will have great influence on not only the land-banking institutions, but also the auction market, so real estate developers should pay attention to what happens at the event.

A novelty of this year’s fair will be the integration of the cross-Straits summit for the health preservation industry and pension industry. The summit which is in its third session will invite industry insiders from Taiwan and the mainland to talk about national policies, and possible business models to take.

The summit will also discuss the best real estate projects developed for the elderly, and real estate properties with the best environment. There will also be time for business negotiations and networking.

The fair will also showcase investment opportunities in tourism real estate, in particular tourism real estate that integrates local culture into its development, a current industry trend. The involvement of the cultural and creative industries has become the new drive of the tourism economy in many Chinese cities.

Staff members of the top real estate investment management firm JLL will attend the fair and offer advice on fundraising, sourcing of land, and finding investment partners; taking examples of successful cases of cultural and tourism real estate development in China.
