Okinawa to show off tourism gems at Xiamen trade fair
2016/8/31
The Japanese prefecture and island of Okinawa will promote its products and tourism resources at this year’s CIFIT, which is set to begin on Sept 8. With previous promotional events at the fair being successful, an Okinawa business delegation will attend this year’s fair. The delegation is organized by the prefecture government, the Okinawa Industry Promotion Public Corporation and the Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau (OCVB). Okinawa’s mild sub-tropical oceanic climate offers tourists the ideal conditions to explore its pristine beaches, coral reefs and diverse aquatic life. In recent years, more cruise routes have been linked to Okinawa to attract more visitors from China. OCVB staff members will introduce the latest tourism development at CIFIT. Okinawa’s quality food and drink products will also go on display at the fair in Xiamen, Fujian province from Sept 8 to 11. The Okinawa government hopes to improve its economic ties with Fujian by staging a business matching event on the afternoon of Sept 8. Ties between Okinawa prefecture and Fujian province date back to 1997. Since then, the exchange of personnel and economic cooperation between the two sides has developed steadily. As an important partner of Fujian, Okinawa has been participating in the Xiamen trade fair for years. |
