Israel will showcase its latest technological developments at the 2016 China-Israel Technology Cooperation Summit on Sept 5-7, with China seeking to learn lessons from the ‘Start-Up Nation’ as it bids to boost innovation in the world’s second-largest economy.

Technology firms, educational institutes, business incubators and investment funds will be part of the Israeli delegation to the summit in Xiamen, Fujian province.

The event will give the Israeli companies the chance to demonstrate their latest innovations in modern agriculture, health care, smart cities and clean energy, as well as network and discuss potential cooperation agreements with their Chinese counterparts.

Among the Israeli companies attending the summit will be leading fertilizer producer ICL; Mer Group’s telecommunications division; Israel’s largest bank, Bank Leumi; agro-biotech company Enzootic; and the phishing mitigation solution provider IronScales.

The University of Haifa, a public, research-oriented university from northern Israel, and the Trendlines Group, which focuses on nourishing and commercializing medical and agricultural technologies, will also share their experiences in facilitating research and development, as well as a line-up of incubators, investment funds and accelerators.

Outstanding Chinese companies, including IT solutions provider Unisplendour Corporation, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals and realty developer Xiamen C&D Corporation will also be participating in the summit.

China International Fair for Investment & Trade, China Science & Technology Exchange Center and Israeli Export & International Cooperation Institute are hosting the summit, which is designed to promote technological exchange and promote the application of advanced technologies in China.

Matan Vilnai, Israeli Ambassador to China, and Shauli Katznelson, deputy director-general of the IEICI, will be speaking at the summit.
