The investment promotion bureau of the Ministry of Commerce will host a forum on distinctive environmentally-friendly and technology-based approaches in town development, in collaboration with the China Real Estate Association.

Part of China’s “new urbanization” strategy, building small towns with their own characteristics means consolidating resources to realize integrated development, improving infrastructure facilities, implementing administrative reforms and most importantly, identifying the strongest development potential in local areas and capturing it with innovative and market-oriented development efforts.

The forum has invited foreign experts in urban development to participate as well as local government officials and real estate developers from China. State Council counselor Chen Quansheng and president of the China Real Estate Association Liu Zhifeng will also be in attendance.

Forum participants will discuss a wide range of issues, including coordinated urban-rural development, integrated industrial and residential development, environmental conservation, and smart city construction.
