Chinese-Malaysian industrial park to feature at 19th CIFIT
2016/9/6
After signing an agreement with CIFIT organizers in April, the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park is set to showcase itself at this year’s fair on Sept 8. Located in Qinzhou in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, the park will highlight its business environment and favorable policies at a 90-square-meter exhibition space in the investment-themed exhibition area. Approved by the State Council, Qinzhou park prioritizes the development of equipment manufacturing, information technology, food production, new material, bio-medicine, marine industry and modern services. The park covers a planned area of 55 square kilometers close to the Qinzhou Port and has easy access to railway, road and sea transportation networks. The port introduced bonded polices in 2008 and its preferential tax policies have helped to facilitate trade links. The park is a result of collaboration between Chinese and Malaysian governments, and is twinned with a park in the coastal city of Kuantan, Malaysia. The city is home to a deep-water port suitable for developing cargo trade and its Chinese population accounts for approximately 30 percent of its total population. Both the Chinese and Malaysian governments have attached great importance to the development of the two parks. While meeting Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak in Beijing in November 2014, President Xi Jinping said that the two countries should connect development strategies and forge the Qinzhou and Kuantan industrial parks into a flagship project of China-Malaysia cooperation. He added the park should become a demonstration zone of cooperation between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). |
