Liang Jianyong, vice-governor of Fujian province, met with overseas businesspeople and officials, who came to Xiamen for the 19th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), on Sept 9.

Amongst the people Liang met with was the transport minister of Jordan. Fujian enjoys a good relationship with Jordan and is expected to further its links with the country through the Belt and Road Initiative, according to comments made by Liang after he met with the minister.Liang was also hopeful that both sides could enhance cooperation in transportation, business and tourism, creating a mutually beneficial situation.

During a meeting with Ghazi Abu Nahl, the chairman of the WTCA, Liang said that he hoped the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) would play a positive role in promoting Fujian’s opportunities for trade, and help attract more foreign firms to the province.

Liang also expressed his views to Stephen Phillips, chairman of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), on further promoting cooperation between Fujian and Britain, through the British brand cultural festival held in Quanzhou.

Guests who were invited to meet with Liang all praised Fujian’s development achievements and expressed how useful CIFIT is in searching for commercial opportunities, making deals and organizing exchanges.
