Inland and coastal e-commerce companies announce cooperation

Two subsidiaries of Chinese IT giant ZTE Corp from the inland Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and costal Fujian province agreed a deal to cooperate on projects in the e-commerce sector on the third day of the the 19th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen on Sept 10.
 
The cooperation between Xinjiang ZTE Silkroad Network Technology Co and Fujian ZTE Heysroad Technology Co will involve the joint construction and sharing of storage and logistics facilities, and a match making e-commerce platform for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
 
The deal is part of a wider move to push forward with China’s Belt and Road Initiative, according Yang Weiwei, vice-director of the management committee of the border economic cooperation zone in Yining, Xinjiang.
 
Yang added that he expects the deal to further deepen the companies’ strategic cooperation, and to promote the development of China’s e-commerce industry.
 
The Xinjiang Silkroad, co-founded by ZTE and the Yining State-level Border Economic Cooperation Zone in 2015 in Yining, a key trading hub on the ancient Silk Road, is engaged in offering e-commerce platforms for import, export and comprehensive services.
 
The Fujian Heysroad, founded in 2015 and wholly owned by ZTE, is located in a former hub of the Maritime Silk Road, Quanzhou. The Heysroad is also a solution and service provider for cross-border e-commerce.
