Hainan city seals deals worth $419m at Xiamen fair

The coastal city of Qionghai in South China’s Hainan province signed agreements worth 2.8 billion yuan ($419 million) with investors at a promotion activity during the 19th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, Fujian province on Sept 8.
 
The deals included a 1.5-billion-yuan cultural and tourism project to be developed with the Beida Jade Bird Group, an investment firm affiliated to Peking University, as well as a 300-million-yuan high-end health care project and a 1-billion-yuan home furnishings mall.
 
The Qionghai delegation also took part in a business workshop to attract investment in the tourism, health care and tropical agriculture industries. Qionghai acting mayor Fu Ping, head of the city’s delegation, briefed the participants about the city’s tourism industry and investment environment. Several investors entered preliminary negotiations with the delegation following the briefing.
 
In addition, the delegation visited major companies in Xiamen and surrounding cities to seek business opportunities and attract more investors.
