Fujian shows ambition in developing modern services

Fujian hosted a matchmaking event dedicated to the modern tertiary service industry during the 19th CIFIT as the southeastern province looks to catch up with more developed regions.
A number of intentions to cooperate were reached between the attending parties, including Hermes Group, a multinational parcel delivery company based in Hamburg, Germany, and Fresenius Kabi, a healthcare company specializing in technologies of infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition.
Hermes Group said that it plans to set up a supervision center for cross-border direct mail and international express services in Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian province, in collaboration with the local air link Fuzhou Airport, online marketplace Yougou, and BNK Aviation.
The group also plans to build its China distribution center in Fuzhou.
Fresenius Kabi, the German healthcare solution provider, plans to set up 30 hemodialysis centers and two nephrosis hospitals in Fujian, with an initial investment of $150 million.
Talks at the event are expected to lead to future cooperation in modern logistics, financial and business services, tourism, healthcare, elderly care, and trade, according to insiders from the provincial commerce department.
