2016/10/21
Two network technology companies– one in the northwestern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the other in the southeastern province of Fujian– signed an agreement for cooperation in e-commerce at the Xiamen International Conference Center in Xiamen, Fujian this past September.
The two sign parties – Xinjiang ZTE Silk Road and Heysroad Technology in Fujian - are both subsidiaries of the ZTE Corporation, a multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company based in Shenzhen, Guangdong.
The Xinjiang company was a collaboration between ZTE and the national Border Economic Cooperation Zone in Yining city, Xinjinag Uygur autonomous region.
Deputy director of the zone Yang Weiwei believes that the reciprocity between the companies will present an innovative way of cooperation, and will be a strong push for healthy growth within the cross-border e-commerce sector, Xiamen Daily reported.
Insiders said that the two parties will share strategies in storage and logistics, and assist more small and medium-sized enterprises in connecting to the global network through the “virtual highway”–a modern iteration of the Silk Road.
The border economic zone in Yining was established in 1992 after approval from the State Council. In recent years, officials from the zone travelled frequently to Xiamen, a port city and springboard for reaching Southeastern Asian markets,to discover new business opportunities. The signing of the agreement, which took place during its participation in the 19th CIFIT in Xiamen, was the result of the zone’s proactive efforts in promoting business cooperation.
