The 24th"New Silk Road" China modelling competition finished in Sanya,Hainan, on December 10th. Two students from Xiamen University of Technology wonfirst prizes in both the male and female categories. 

Sheng Gangshuaiwon first prize in the male models’ competition. From Qingdao, Sheng is 188cmin height and studying in the School of Design Arts and Fashion Design inXiamen University of Technology. His unique name also attracted lots ofattention, but he didn’t explain it due to shyness.

Guan Siyu, ajunior from the School of Design Arts and Fashion Design in Xiamen Universityof Technology, cliched first place in female modelling competition. Guan Siyu,who is 179cm in height and 85-60-90cm in BWH, comes from Harbin.

Jin Tiantian whoalso comes from Xiamen University of Technology finished in second place in thefemale models’ final and was honoured with the Best Body Award as well.

The “New SilkRoad” China modelling competition was founded in 1989, and is regarded withinthe Chinese fashion industry as the largest, highest level and the mostinfluential modelling competition in China. The competition, previously won byDu Juan, Liu Wen and Zhang Ziling, can be considered as an essential part of thehistory of supermodels in China. This year, thousands of contestants fromeighteen countries and regions, including China, Canada and Slovenia,participated in the competition.
