The 13th Cross-Strait Book Fair is scheduled to be held in Xiamen from October 13th to 15th. As the main exhibition guest, Hubei Province held a press conference in Langfang on May 30th outlining the bookfair.

Accordingly, the preparation for the book fair is in full swing. The main venue will be the Xiamen Culture & Art Centre, covering a total exhibition area of 8,000 square metres, with a 15,000-square-metre affiliated venue located in Xiamen International Bookstore, which will serve for the fair’s related citywide reading activities.

The fair will focus on showcasing and exchanging quality books from both sides of the Strait. The different categories of book that will include literature, health, tourism, technology, history, philosophy, economyand law, as well as journals, audio products and electronic publications.

A Taiwanese illustrated book gallery, a children’s bookbooth, a three-dimension library, a reading pavilion and a Taiwanese book exhibition will all feature within the book fair for the very first time. It is worth mentioning that local citizens will be able to experience a“study+music+reading” scene within the Taiwanese book exhibition, and purchase original books published in Taiwan.

The Cross-Strait Book Fair, which is an important platform for publishing houses on both sides of the Strait, has been held annually since 2005, with Xiamen and Taiwanese cities taking turns at hosting it each year.
