The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Beijing's Economic Daily recently released a list of China's most livable cities. Xiamen ranked third for cities in the Chinese mainland. The study judged cities on a number of factors including: housing prices, access to education, medical care as well as public services and economic growth. 

The complete list of the top ten ranked cities include: Hong Kong, Wuxi, Guangzhou, Macao, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Nantong, Nanjing and Shanghai.
