A press conference for 2017 Xiamen Fashion Week was held at Hyatt Regency Xiamen Wuyuanwan on September 28.

June Dally-Watkins, the 90-year-old Australia's queen of etiquette, stole the spotlight at the conference.

According to the press conference, the 2017 Xiamen Fashion Week is scheduled to open on November15-19, covering four major sections: industrial connection, fashion demonstration, shopping guide and the city of fashion.

Themed “Xiamen?Showthe World”, the event is aiming to forge Xiamen as an international city of fashion, targeting young consumer groups.

“Xiamen has a unique advantage in fashion industry, based on the rapid development in the industries of sportswear, menswear, fashion catering and art,” said Wen Bo,director of the fashion week committee. “The just-concldued BRICS summit hasdrawn global attention to Xiamen, and now it's the best time to show Xiamen's fashion image to the world.”

Besides, the fashion week will introduce a new purchase mode that allows fans to buy items immediately right after being presented on the runway, and a fashion blogger awards to encourage citywide participation.
