The China Meetings Industry Convention (CMIC) kicked off in Beijing on December 5. CMIC officials bestowed upon Xiamen its Best MICE Marketing Destination award during its annual awards ceremony. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.

Convention attendees included approximately 3,000 representatives from service providers as well as officials from cities such as Beijing, Hangzhou and Xiamen.

Xiamen's MICEindustry has fared well in recent years, thanks to a higher internationa lpresence spurred by the recent BRICS Summits as well as the city's annual CIFIT and its Xiamen International MICE Week. The city recently unveiled a new BRICS Egret logo as a part of its global marketing push.
