The FLIPORT Convention & Exhibition Center (the FLIPORT C&E Center) is fully funded by Xiamen’s Top 10 state-owned enterprise--IPORT Group and functioned by FLIPORT Wutong Hotel, member of the FLIPORT Group. The FLIPORT C&E Center is anticipated to be completed and go into service by the fourth quarter in 2018. As one of the five commercial subjects of the New Straits Area, the C&E center is aimed to practice the new developing pattern of ‘C&E +’by intimately integrating FLIPORT Wutong Hotel, Wutong Port III, Straits Tourism Mansion and Tourism Expo Center. Developed and operated by IPORT Group, the New Straits Area is Xiamen’s key project under construction, with total investment of about 3.5 billion. The project is located in Xiamen Straits Business Center, which links the city’s three main traffic ways including Huandao Road, the Jimei Bridge and the Xiang’an Undersea Tunnel.

The FLIPORT C&E Center is mainly designed by China’s famous architect, Mr. He Jingtang, who also known as the first winner of Liang Sicheng Architect Award and Father of China Pavilion. The modern and elegant building style of the center will found solid grounding to increase the center’s brand image. The FLIPORT Wutong Hotel and other business subjects in the area will share supporting service of the business circle by being connected by the landscape platform and the air corridor on 2F, so as to set up new landmark of tourism and exhibition in west coast.

Main structure of the FLIPORT C&E Center is almost completed in the early 2018, with the interior decoration and functional facilities now under construction. The center covers an area of 66 thousand sqm, including 30 thousand sqm exhibition halls and 15 multi-functional meeting rooms of diversified sizes. Advanced design concepts has contributed healthily to enable the center providing multi-dimensional services for hall section layout, booth design & arrangement, as well as exhibition and conference supporting service:

·Precise design of girder load-bearing on 2F realizes a pillar-free exhibition hall area of 10 thousand sqm;

·Glass ceiling and 12-meter floor height enable a bright and grand space;

·Out green landscape platform provides premium and excellent exhibition environment.

Influenced by the ‘Post-BRICS Effect’, Xiamen’s C&E industry will step into its rapid growth stage in the next 5 years. As a small-to-medium sized C&E center, the FLIPORT C&E Center will surly meet the development needs of the time, to provide professional platform for C&E incubation and development by enriching diversity of this industry with Xiamen’s current large C&E centers.
