The 12th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industries Fair will be held in Xiamen, Fujian province, from Nov 1 to 4, a Chinese mainland spokesman said Wednesday.

Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, described the fair as an important platform for cultural exchange and cooperation as well as investment and business between the mainland and Taiwan since its launch in 2008.

There will be around 3,500 booths displaying renowned companies, arts and crafts, creative design, digital content and tourism on the Chinese mainland and Taiwan at this year's event, Ma told a press conference, saying that about one-third of the booths are for enterprises from Taiwan.

Featuring eight pavilions themed around cultural and creative products from Taiwan and an area of over 6,500 square meters displaying quality products from the island, the event will show the progress of the integrated development across the Taiwan Strait, Ma said.
