Hosted by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development, a press conference for the 2019 World Ocean Week (WOW) in Xiamen was held in Xiamen, Fujian province on October 28th.

Wang Chunsheng, director of the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Ocean Development, attended the conference.

The 2019 World Ocean Week in Xiamen is scheduled to be held from November 1 to 7, with the theme of "Blue Partnership for a Maritime Community with a Shared Future".

The 2019 WOW will consist of three main parts: forums and conferences, matchmaking symposiums and exhibitions, and the marine cultural carnival.

A series of 50 supporting activities are set to be held during the week-long event, and expected to attract more than 300,000 visitors from all walks of life .

According to the organizing committee, about 300 foreign guests from nearly 40 countries will attend the 2019 Xiamen International Ocean Forum, a strong reflect of China's positive attitude and practical actions in implementing the 2030 sustainable development agenda in the marine sector.

The annual conference of the PEMSEA Network of Local Governments (PNLG) for Sustainable Coastal Development will also be held alongside the ocean week.

Launched in 2006, the World Ocean Week in Xiamen, an important international marine exchange platform, is making effort to promote economic development and enhance global exchange in the marine industry.
