The PEMSEA Network of Local Governments (PNLG) Annual Forum 2019 was held in Xiamen, East China’s Fujian province on November 1-2,2019.

Themed “Blue Partnership for a Shared Future”,the  2019 PNLG Annual Forum aims to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and promote the sustainable development of the Seas of East Asia.

Over 150 members of the PNLG from 33 cities in China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and Burma attended the conference.

Mr. Pan Shijian, Honorable President of the PNLG and Former Vice Mayor of Xiamen Municipal People’s Government, read Jointly Tackle Marine Debris Initiative, a proposal to call for joint efforts of cities in the Seas of East Asia to address the problem of marine debris.
