The 8th World Congress of Ocean (WOC) was held in Xiamen, Fujian province on Nov 2.

About 300 experts, scholars, representatives of renowned enterprises and institution from over 30 countries took part in this year’s event.

Themed on “Love Ocean with a Shared Future”, the event includes a total of 12 forums, over 100 lectures and other matching making events, covering a wide range of fields in marine economy, maritime law, marine engineering, marine clean energy, port logistics and shipping, marine environmental protection, fishery, marine biology, seafood processing industry and more.

It is worth mentioning that the 2019 WCO was held alongside with the 2019 World Ocean Week in Xiamen, which made the conference grander than ever before.

The 2019 WOC is jointly hosted by China Fisheries Association, China Institution of Navigation, China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry, and Foreign Talent Research Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
